Re: FOLLOWING A 1200 CALORIE A DAY DIET

@hsawaknow

Any nutritionist will tell you eating 1200 calories a day is a very unhealthy, unbalanced diet.  Not enough protein, good fats and carbs for sustained energy.  And walking a mile every other day is good for beginners.  If you've been doing this for awhile, it's unimpressive.  I'm 55 and consume 1600-1800 calories/day.  I run 5-10 miles 3-4 times a week.  In between I do kick ****** cardio for an hour 3 times a week and weight train 3 times a week.  Maintained a weight loss of over 130 lbs. for years.

And there is nothing wrong with cheese or dairy, unless you have sensitivity to dairy.  Eating foods higher in fat isn't going to kill you.  And I don't diet anymore.  I figured it out after many years of doing that.  Just move more, keep your diet clean for the most part and when in need, have a cheat meal or a cheat day.  Just don't do it daily.  I can't even imagine dieting anymore.  And I never will again.

Re: FOLLOWING A 1200 CALORIE A DAY DIET

@Calcgirl

I am sorry to not reply sooner as I am just seeing your request.  The 1200 calorie WW I like to try to follow is

2 servings from the milk group

3 servings from the fat group

6 servings from the protein group

5 servings from the bread group

2 servings from the fruit group

I do not know how to post the lists of all of the foods.  I know Richard Simmons Deal a meal is very close to this type of “exchange” way of eating.   I will add an exchange or two since I am now maintaining my current weight.

Hope this helps!

Yes, I live on a 1000 calorie diet. I make breakfast my main meal. This includes 2 eggwhites, 1/2 slice of wheat toast and a banana or orange.

Lunch Is a salad with a small boneless skin removed chicken thigh cooked however you like it. I also cook asparagus, or zucchini.

Dinner is Salmon, I like mine grilled with lots of lemon. I might add 1/4 cup lentils which I make into a salad with vinagrette dressing or more fresh veggies.

for a snack I like to have a piece of fruit or a protein bar.

I drink 64oz of water and coffee with non-dairy creamer.

once a week I allow myself a Vente Latte at Starbucks.

Keep your portions small, I eat on a small plate. Avoid dairy, Cheese and beef, lamb.

Good luck!

@hsawaknow I am very impressed. How long have you been eating like this?
