I found this thread and I feel that it is appropriate to bring it back because all I see are negative and unhappy threads lately. I do read and watch the news daily but lately here on CC it's been one downer thread right after the other.

So does anyone have any HAPPY news for a change?

Good doctor visits?

New babies?

New pets?

Restful vacations?

New homes/remodels?

I have a new lip gloss from colourpop and dg2 distressed jeans, does that count? Woman LOL

Just today, I went out to buy myself a slice of pizza. The street was crowded. I was on my way home and an older homeless man stopped me, said he was hungry and could I buy him lunch. Normally, I do not give money to panhandlers, but this man was polite and non-threatening, and seemed really sincere... and he wasn't asking for money, he was asking for food.

I thought how fortunate I was to be able to get pizza just because I wanted it. I asked, "What would you like?" He pointed to the deli nearby and we both went in. He got a chicken sandwich that came with chips and a soda. He thanked me profusely and was headed out the door to leave me to pay for his lunch, but I stopped him and handed him a 20 dollar bill so he could pay. I said, "Enjoy your lunch and be well," and quickly left, but not before I thought I saw a tear in his eyes.

I felt like crying afterwards, but also felt good that I could do something to brighten his day.

I don't know how long this will stay up.  For anyone who remembers Toni Basil from the song Mickey.  Check out her dancing - age 72.  Wish I could do her footwork at my age

I read a story today about a 12 year old boy who taught his grandmother to use her new iPad. He then got the idea to help other seniors with the tablets & phones their children had given them that they couldn't figure out.

He connected with a nursing home. He was SO successful he had to get other kids involved, because word got around. Everyone in the nursing home knows how to get an Uber, order from Amazon, do Instagram, etc.

He does it just because it makes him happy to open them up to a new world.
