No Lindsay's Grandma...they don't. Kinda gross huh. Managers are too good to do that kind of work ;-).

When my friend managed a Taco Bell, he cleaned the restrooms himself.
They had a disabled teen on staff and that used to be HIS job...plus cleaning the parking lot and the dining room.
My friend taught him how to take orders...the teen told me that no one had ever been a netter boss to him, ever. He was so proud to learn a new skill and be off bathroom shift.
Meanwhile, the staff told my friend that NO BOSS had ever done the grunge work. They were REALY impressed and worked very hard for him.

OSHA has guidelines for fast food restaurants on this topic. Life is messy and I agree with your daughter. Don't make this an issue unless you want to get her fired.

I can't image a huge corporation like McDonald's or Burger King or Taco Bell wouldn't have a written policy for any issue that could arise in their stores. The OPs daughter should ask the manager for the written policy. If the manager can't provide it, she should ask who can.
Parents should never, ever interfere in an adult child's employment, unless there is criminal activity in the workplace. Even then, a parent's involvement reflects negatively on the employee.

Life is messy indeed. Hepatitis is very messy.

One of my daughters worked at a national fast food restaurant. She was a counter/window employee. Rest room cleaning was not part of her job. There was a person on each shift employed to clean tables, floors and rest rooms. If the person was not there, the person in charge was responsible for clean-ups.
OP, I understand your dilemma but your daughter is an adult. It is her responsibility to find out company policy.

Hyacinth -
Your DD has been there long enough...I hope she is still looking for a better job closer to home.

Again, I apologize if I am mistaken or got that wrong in some way. If that is the case though, I think no matter her daughters age she needs to be proactive in protecting her in case maybe her own daughter can't protect herself. This is a serious matter and really needs to be addressed. I agree, don't bother with the store manager, go to the GM at corporate. They definitely don't want "bloodborne pathogens not properly cleaned" in any news story.
She is high functioning autistic. Hyacinth has been very open about it.
Ok thank you. I couldn't exactly remember.

We only mean this in the nicest way possible...now that she is working and has some experience, she needs to be looking for a better job.
She's been a trooper to stick with it this long. Fast food workers move around a LOT.
