I could be totally wrong but doesn't the OP have a daughter with learning disabilities of some sort? Again, I apologize if I am mistaken or got that wrong in some way. If that is the case though, I think no matter her daughters age she needs to be proactive in protecting her in case maybe her own daughter can't protect herself. This is a serious matter and really needs to be addressed. I agree, don't bother with the store manager, go to the GM at corporate. They definitely don't want "bloodborne pathogens not properly cleaned" in any news story.

She is high functioning autistic. Hyacinth has been very open about it.

A sure way to get her fired from this job is to snitch to the authorities. Does IL require it's employees to view the OSHA video ? I had to do that when I worked in a restaurant one summer.

Better to teach her what to do in the future than jeopardize her job.

Snitch? We are not talking about tattling that they make her work 5 mintues over or something. This is a serious health issue.

Yes people don't realize that infectious diseases like Hep C are still 'alive' even when 'dried'. Health violations may have been breached and you need to find this out. Your adult daughter or a junior high school student may/would not know this. The manager should be ON TOP of situations like this as far as safety precautions. You should not worry about your daughter being fired. The establishment would be in worse trouble for firing someone because the restaurant failed to follow proper procedures.

I too would be worried for my daughter.

And another way to get fired is to refuse to do what they ask you to do.

This could easily happen in an office, too. It's not exclusive to PT fast food jobs.

Life is messy. The human body is filled with fluids, and sometimes they leak out. The only other option is to stay home, and live in a plastic bubble.

Well said. There are things way worse than being fired.

And I would think if this were reported to OSHA they would keep it confidential as to who reported them.
