Goodness, it's a miracle that whatever happened to that engine happened before takeoff as heaven knows what would have happened to that plane if it had taken off and bless that pilot that was able to keep the situation under control.

 

In the Chicagoland area we are a bit more sensitive as there was back in 1979 a horrific crash of a DC-10 immediately after take off resulted in a crash as one of the engines separated from the aircraft so I am so glad whatever happened to that engine/aircraft happened on the ground.

@JaneMarple I think it stays with me more because my friend lived in that trailer park where the plane crashed nearby.  I was so worried about her and her husband and luckily the plane did not land on where she lived.  I can still remember it like it was yesterday, God rest their souls.
