This may be a dumb question. (Follow me here). I always wanted to know how this works. So you have an idea as a designer or on inventor (of anything IE clothing, handbags, shoes, dishes, computers, every day everything and anything!). And you get a patent if its something unique. So most things are made in China. Some in Mexico, Vietnam, wherever.
Do designers design things then fly back and forth to China or whatever country to the factories and get them to make the items? Or is it all done here through a company that sends the idea to the other country for them?
I know how it works if things are made in the USA of course. They just set up shop here and make things. But I never understood this if things are not made here.
Also because I hear designers say I was just in Italy, I was just wherever and saw the new fashions, jewelry (Or whatever it may be). But I never hear them say I just got back from China, etc so I was wondering. lol
Another words HOW do the makers and or designers get in touch with these Chinese factory people, how do they get things made?
(PS No Im not thinking of doing this, but if I was it would be made here..lol.)
