Re: Ewww - cabbage patch dolls

Those dolls are so ugly. I am so glad I was not a child at the time they became popular, as I might have been stuck with one!  lol

Some people do like them, maybe also for nostalgic reasons.   Are they trying to sell them as "collectibles"?

They have been sold on Q for many years now. I used to see them, I'd have to guess about a decade ago, when my son was still in grade school.

I had no idea they were still around. Are they still popular? I haven't seen them in decades. My kids were never interested in that sort of thing.

I actually think they are the least creepy of all the doll species.blushing

My Mom was always crazy for babies, after they started getting into things, not so much. She bought herself maybe 4 CP babies and I think she just missed having a baby around.

Re: Ewww - cabbage patch dolls

morning juju!!  Awwwhhh, my mom has our old dolls in one of the rooms - she likes to look at them too.   I think as our moms get older, they want to fondly remember those days when their daughters were just little girls.

Re: Ewww - cabbage patch dolls

My daughter loved her cabbage patch doll.   It went to a battered women's shelter along with all her other dolls when she was about 12.  I always figured she had a friend in that situation, she never told me why she wanted to donate her stuff.
