Re: Ever have something embedded in your cornea?

I once pierced my cornea when I was doing my taxes--I'm nearsighted and I sliced the cornea with a tax document (w small print).. Paper cut sort of injury.

My eye doctors' praxtice always have someone on call, so it was a relief to get it taken care of (late afternoon on a Sunday).  A corneal cut is painful, and you can get an infection.  Mine cleared up fine in a day or two.

If you can't wash it out, it might be imbedded.  I hope it clears up soon.

Re: Ever have something embedded in your cornea?

I was sewing on my sewing machine when suddenly the needle broke off and went flying. It went directly into my eye.icon_shocked.gif I felt something hit my eye but had no idea it was the broken needle that lodged itself into the white part of my eyeball. Went to ER and the doc just pulled it out with pair of tweezers. I was fine after that but it sure did hurt when that needle got stuck in my eye.
