Have had bison before but found a wonderful recipe that we cooked recently.  It can be found here:

Western Bison Burgers with Crispy Onions and Whisky Mayo

They were delicious!  Used sliced red onion vs fried as didn't have the time, the sauce was incredible, will use it elsewhere too. Smiley Happy

Grilled them on our Cuisinart outdoor / indoor grill recent QVC purchase, that thing gets really hot which I worried about the temp, easy clean-up, love it Smiley Happy

@rockygems123 You had me at whisky mayo.  Actually, we make bison burgers all the time instead of regular hamburgers because they are considerably less fatty. More expensive than beef though.

@Bookplate

You have to try this recipe then, so stinkin' good.

If you have a Whole Foods they have 14oz? bison packs on sale this week.  Not a big savings but it doesn't hurt.

Re: Ever Have Bison Burgers?

I use ground bison in my chili recipe.  Only $11/lb at my local grocery store.

Re: Ever Have Bison Burgers?

I've never had an actual bison burger.  The meat is so lean i would be afraid they would be dry.

I have used bison in my chili though.

I had a buffalo burger on Route66 while on vacation. It was delicious. Is bison and buffalo the same thing? I think it is.

Re: Ever Have Bison Burgers?

I've never had  any but would love to try one.  My friend got hooked on them when she vacationed in the South/North Dakota area.  She said there is a meat market near me that carries bison but you have to ask for it and now I don't remember which one it was.
