I am so sorry for everyone who is suffering through this disaster at California.  The fires are so scary and they seem to be more frequent.  It is a horrible situation and I do hope it will end soon and people will be safe. My heart goes out to everyone in a state I love and respect.

Fortunately I'm not near them, but our sky is grey from the smoke ....  heart breaking.

Re: Evacuation Fire Day 3

[ Edited ]

@dulwich I hope you are hanging in there and that both of your Santa Cruz homes are still standing.  I read that there were about 11,000 lightning strikes in CA last Sunday, most of them here in the Bay area.  They caused more than 300 fires.

For those of you that don't live here, it's not a lack of forest management or "raking the leaves", but more about climate change. Moisture from a tropical storm is expected this weekend and there is a chance of lighting strikes again from Sunday night through Tuesday.

Several of the posters here seem to be from this area, so I hope we all stay safe and prepared.
