Nothing wrong with growing up feeling you're special.  It lends to good self-esteem.  Entitlement is not feeling you're special, it's feeling you're "owed" something. Like a cost of living increase because you haven't gotten one for 2 years. Or to be able to purchase health insurance for $104 a month without every having an increase, even though every working person has been paying rising premiums for 20 years.

Criminals actually have high levels of self esteem but bad judgement.  You can feel horrible about yourself and still be kind and well mannered.

Many criminals were victims of abuse and most certainly do not have high levels of self esteem.

"When life gives you lemons, just put on your big girl panties and deal" ??

I am curious as to why this was offered?  My answer to the poster was to be pro-active.  You have no idea of me at 72 years of age, what of who I am or what I have gone through in my life.  Or what I have seen or observed.  Where there is life, there is hope.  I have never made a statement like that to anyone, and I can tell you I would never.  I guess I thought adults could debate an issue without such stuff.

It's the poster's sig line on all her posts. It is not specific to you or this thread. You can change your settings so you won't see anyone's sig lines if they bother you.

Where does the extra come from if you're making $9 an hour as a cashier? We're all in the same boat.

@Moonchilde, Thank you for your explanation.  Obviously, I took it  to be specific to this discussion.  It certainly is a different signature line.  I guess I am just used to seeing inspiring quotes as signature lines.

Social Security is NOT an entitlement or a "handout".  People pay into it their entire working lives.  It's THEIR money.

Not that some people wouldn't like to take it away from them.

Re: Entitlement Attitude - Vent

I'm tired of seeing cars parked in No Parking zones.  What is it about No Parking that these special people don't understand?

Don't even get me started on the people who don't need handicapped parking but park there anyway because it's con-VEEEEN-ient.
