@Kachina624  I'm not sure how much is too much either, but sometimes get scolded by hubby for taking in too much--like he knows? lol   I've been drinking those new V-8 Plus fruit & veggie protein drinks but they only have 10g per can.

@KKJ As we age, we lose muscle mass, with many negative effects. Current thoughts are, that older adults should consume 20-30g protein with every meal, and, if desired, 15g of additional snacks.

This along with moderate exercise can help retain, and/or build muscle, while controlling weight. This is why you see so many drinks strongly advertising their higher grams of protein.

Protein is an essential nutrient for health and well being. There's lots of online literature to study that may reassure you. But, always ask your doc, if unsure.

Just remember, even docs are not that well versed on nutrition. But neither is hubby ...LOL. You're fine with your 10g protein drink.

Btw, I learned a good deal about my dietary needs/issues when I started a, typical day, diet journal. I then had a clear view of how many calories, protein, carbs, etc., I was normally taking in daily. From there I was able to make necessary changes, with improved health. And, I did add some additional protein to my regimen.

Try the Atkin drinks. I swear by those and have turned many on to them from Ensure.
