That's pretty bad when people run around stealing peoples packages. I keep track of mine so I know when they are coming so I can be here to get them. Every once in a while I cannot be here but have been lucky. Glad HSN is replacing it for you.
A while back someone posted their package was stolen & she saw a neighbor wearing her dress? No way to know for sure but what are the chances the neighbor ordered the same dress.
Someone not far from here got tired of their packages being stolen so they boxed up some poo so they could steal it. It was on our local news.

@151949 With all due respect this is the latest in a slew of threads about shipping problems concerning QVC. I'm sure in your area their are shipping establishments where you can have your packages delivered , citing a "street address" for a nominal fee. You might want to look into it.

Excellent advice for everyone who isn't home to accept deliveries. You can get a street address mailbox at UPS stores ... find locations at their website.
I use a local concierge service ... worth the small monthly fee.

I paid for this for almost 20 years. Packages could not be left at my apartment; they would most likely disappear and I couldn't take the risk with expensive items. I worked and was gone from home at least 11 hrs a day. I paid for a box at a UPS store. I'd had a PO box but the PO routinely "misplaced" packages, i.e. lost or stole them, and couldn't have cared less. Never had a single thing go missing from the UPS store.
Yes, I resented the expense, and the necessity - especially that the USPS, the most reasonable option, was just as bad about theft and loss as leaving it out in the open - but it was in the end worth the money to be sure I received all my mail and packages.

@hoosieroriginal wrote:Leave them another package. Take an empty box, put your dog droppings in it, slap a couple of stamps on it and make it look real pretty for them and let them have a present for Christmas. Someone up in Indy did that when they had a package stolen, and sure enough, their security cameras showed them picking up the dog poo package!
Great story .... dog poop is a great present for thieves! LOL ![]()

@151949 wrote:I purchased a Perlier gift set from HSN to use as a Christmas gift. It arrived via UPS and was left at the door as we weren't home. This morning DH found it out there, by the garage door, and it was open and EMPTY. Called HSN - replacement is on the way. However, I am led to wonder who that lives here in my gated community relieved me of the contents of my package?I will have to go around sniffing everyone at the Christmas party to see if I detect the scent of honey lemon.
@151949 I'm not following your timeline????
If the package was delivered while you were not home, didn't you see it when you got back home?? DId it take the next morning to see it???
I'm surprised the package was not taken completely. Thieves grab and go and don't take the time to open to see if it something they want. It's pot luck so to speak.
You might consider tracking your package next time.
I'm not OP....just want to say that i do not use my front door...UPS..Fed Ex just drop and run...could be front door...back door...or at another neighbors house...geez..
My point is...if they leave something and not ring the bell or knock...I don't know its out there...i have had items sit out overnight because of this...
Yes, I do check tracking...but we all know that is inconsistent these days...and many times there is no tracking number to check...

In a gated community no less!! I have to wonder about things like prescription drugs being delivered to homes. They used to suggest that you have items delivered to work but our company said it strained the workforce and kept them from doing their real jobs.

Unfortunately, things like this can occur in gate communities.
I live in a condo in a security building, meaning no one gets in without a code or key. A few years ago, a neighbor had purchased a large amount of chocolate from Godiva to give as holiday gifts to her coworkers. It was left at her door, and a neighbor took it.
It wass a stupid move on the neighbor's part as all public areas in the building are on CCTV, so they were able to find out who took it who took it.

Someone stole the HSN box I had delivered from HSN for my daughter's b-day gift: a pair of opal earring studs HSN said they delivered and replaced but since UPS said they 'left' the package HSN wants me to pay for the pair that didnt get delivered.
I requested that HSN do somemore investigating on that 1st pair and told my daighter to be on the lookout for someone w/opal and zircon studs.

Who let the bad guys into a gated community?
