Emergency HELP PLEASE I have a gold coin

that is from 1992.......it is a one ounce $50 gold piece.......I wear it on my neck piece and I have not worn it much..........in the last year.......my former mother in law wants to buy it today for $3,000 cash and this would start a nest egg for me. It is lady liberty and she said today only will she buy it........gold I think is $1.700 an ounce.
