This is so sad.....hopefully she will get the help she needs.  It is a shame it was allowed to go on to get to $600,000.

The picture of her is one of a very pretty young lady.  This even makes me sadder.....

It makes you even sadder just because she is a pretty young lady? So if she wasn't pretty it wouldn't be so sad? lol

Anyway, I couldn't care less if she is pretty or not - what makes the story more disappointing to me is that she was a successful, accomplished woman- CEO and president of a credit union and she blows her career and accomplishments because of a shopping addiction.

Sorry, it appears you misunderstood what I was saying.  I was saying how sad it was that it got to be $600,000 before anything occurred.....  No, her being a pretty lady doesn't make it sadder......even if she was the ugliest woman on this earth, it would be sad.    It is apparent that she has some real serious problems or she wouldn't be in the position she is in now.  Addictions are very serious and a lot of the time it has gone on for such a long time that it cannot be gotten under control.  Guess my age is showing here, but I do feel sorry for anyone that has to be facing this kind of problem in their life.  It is a shame she didn't get help in the beginning and maybe she wouldn't be facing what she is facing today.

Sorry you didn't like what I posted.  But I was saying what I was feeling in my heart.....

Actually that is not what you said and I don't think I misunderstood your post at all.  Yes, you did say it was sad that it had gotten so bad at $600K but then you said it made it even sadder after seeing that she was a pretty young lady. THAT is the part that I didn't like. It shouldn't matter what someone looks like- it is a sad situation regardless of age or beauty.

She probably meant it was sad because the young woman was attractive to begin with and didn't need to boost her appearance by stealing.

Show Me is the last person on this forum who would intentionally say something cruel. In fact, I think you owe her an apology.

Sorry but I don't think so. You can interpret it the way you want but I simply used her exact sentence and I feel like it wasn't a nice thing to say and I stand by it. We will have to agree to disagree but I stand by what I said. Even what you just said I don't agree with- so if she was less attractive we would better understand why she would feel like she'd need to "boost her appearance" by stealing? Really? Wow. We are a society that tends to give a pass to people moreso if they are attractive and I don't feel it is right. And that is all I will say about this.

When someone is showing empathy for a person who is going though a crisis ( as showme was doing), I don't understand why another poster has to come along and pick at her words and question her intent?

Oh september, thanks.....  I can't let people like that upset me.  There is more to life than that.....  It is easy to ignore when someone wants to be that way.  They have to live with themselves, I don't.  If she is looking for an argument, she won't get one from me.  Not worth it.
