There was a time that if I mentioned that I ordered something from QVC that friends would make fun of me. I'm sure that it wasn't the case, but it seemed that nobody I knew ordered from a shopping channel, so I just stopped saying where I bought something. QVC has come a long way, but I still run into this attitude. Have you ever been embarrassed to admit you shopped at QVC ?

I made that mistake once and was nearly laughed and teased out of the room. I don't tell people if something comes from Q either.

Yes!!

I never understood why.  It's not like I was telling people who only shop at Nordstroms or the like.

I still tell people if they ask just like I'll tell if I found something fantastic at a thrift store.

It's on them for belittling us.

I dont tell where I bought something only when Im asked.  No Im not embarrassed to say I bought it from QVC.  A few years ago I bought a black fleece pullover, half zip at Dollar General.  When I got compliments on it  I would tell them where I got it just to see the look on their faces.

Never! My friends are actually amazed at the great things I have gotten through the years at QVC. Many have said they wanted to shop off of TV but didn't dare. Now that you can shop it on-line, many do so!

There was an episode on Bones that involved a collectible hummingbird pin (Heidi Daus style.) The high fashion, well-dressed medical examiner recognized the pin from watching a shopping network. Her fiancé exposed her passion for watching, and she was teased mercilessly.

I suppose this happens in real life, or the writers would not have centered an investigation around it. I have never been ridiculed or embarrassed by my purchasing from QVC. More than once I have mentioned QVC and received the reply, "What's that?"

I have never run into that problem.  Most times people ask where I got something it is because it is a clever and useful product that I would never have known about if I hadn't seen it on QVC.

Just an aside....

Ummmm.....No. I'm not 12 trying to fit in. If someone laughed or made fun of what I buy where that is their issue not mine.

@On It  I remember that episode.  Bones is one of my favorite re-runs!
