Re: Ellen hosting the Oscars

Ellen did a great job. She is very funny without being mean or cruel and without needing to curse or use 4 letter words. Joan Rivers should take notes.

What did you think of the 12 Years a Slave joke?

I love Ellen and didn't even notice her Liza jokes.

I must be the only one who feels dissapointed in Ellen last night. I expected more from her, I thought she was not very funny at all.

She was just okay for me. I prefer Billy Crystal. For me it's a generational thing. I do not get all the tweets, selfies, the silliness of the pizza, and taking up a collection to pay for it. There seemed to be a lot of time to kill.

Her make-up and hair person is outstanding. She is an attractive woman.

Re: Ellen hosting the Oscars

I much preferred Ellen's approach to the big over the top production numbers of the past.

It gave the winners more time to accept w/o being rushed off the stage.

I liked it - the movies were the spotlight - not the host.

ITA, and posted same on a different thread. Except for the "pizza" prank, she was low key, stayed out of the way, and did not make it 'all about her.'

No, you're not the only one. For me, I thought her jokes fell flat.

Was Yuban, then changed to Plaid Pants due to forum upgrade, and apparently, I'm back to being Yuban.
