Hi ladies. I started the thread "New Lab Retriever in 'da House" if you are interested in reading the 'back story' to this discussion topic. Our big guy went in for his neuter yesterday morning and came home today wearing an Elizabethan collar to keep him from l i c k ing at his other end. (so sorry I have to speak this way in order not to be deleted). So anyway, here it is almost bedtime and I am kind of at a loss as to what to do with him. He has a crate, but with this huge collar, I know he won't be able to get comfortable. He has only been a part of our family since last Friday, is a two year old, and we adopted him into a family where he now has two other pack members. My other two sleep with DH and I every night and I really wanted to keep him crated until I knew that I could trust him. But I feel so terrible making him crate tonight. I am thinking of letting the other two sleep in their regular spot in our bedroom and just sleeping on the couch downstairs tonight so he can spread out in the greatroom. Right now he is sleeping comfortably in the dining room. He is supposed to wear this thing for 7 to 10 days! I would welcome thoughts on this subject, please.
