@icezeus Same thing happened with a presentation last holiday season with Elise and the Carol Hochman vendor. They were speaking of holiday traditions, decorating, trees, etc. The Hochman vendor, asked Elise about her tree and she replied I am Jewish. Yhe very sweet Hochman vendor was so embarassed and apologized. Elise brushed it off saying some members of her family were Jewish and others Christian, she stated we cewlbrate everything. I think Elise could interject in the conversations before it gets to that point or either get the subject back on track to the item being presented. She has some responsibility in the matter., but she handled it well. She did not seem upset at all.

So glad recent staffing changes did not impact Elise...she is always well prepared, knowledgeable about the product and easy to watch. Wish they gave her more time and less of the same hosts who get much too much air time. She also should not be someone's sidekick.

*So there's that, too.*

@chessylady wrote:Despite the rumors, Elise Ivy is co-hosting Shawn saves Christmas tonight. I like Elise so happy for her. She responded so well when Shawn asked her why she doesn't have a Christmas tree. "I'm Jewish, Shawn." So there's that.
So am I - and I don't want to see Christmas trees on the Q until December. So - I won't be watching!!!!

Christmas has been a largely secular holiday for a long time. In fact many are offended now at even the use of the term Christmas.
Easter is actually the major Christian holy day. And yet spring break usually not over Easter any more.
Maybe we should make the "holiday break" sometime in Jan.

@Isobel Archer Never knew this about Christmas. It is nothing like that where I live. I guess everywhere is different. Merry Christmas abounds here.

Elise is a lovely woman who is always professional and knows her products. So sorry she was reduced to wearing pj's and putting up with the nonsense on that show. I would suggest that some hosts look at themselves from all angles before they get on camera.
