Elderly parents and the Computer

Do your elderly parents know how to use a computer? My dad is 84 and he doesn't even want to learn, he is in good health and very active but he doesn't want the internet and he doesn't want to even learn how. Then he wonders why he doesn't receive letters from people or organizations he belongs to. It is because they all send through email.

He doesn't use his cell phone either, he worries about using up the minutes and we have a trac phone for him because it was the easiest for him to use but he'll go to camp and not bring it with him.

He is a widower and I wish he would use the internet. I think it would help him pass some lonely evenings.
