Re: Ebook Subscription Services

Yes, SydneyH, I do belong to Kindle Unlimited. I think it's $9.99 a month and the books are "free" if they are classified under "Kindle Unlimited." For me it has been a money saver.

I tend to choose books under the KU now. I have been reading 2-3 books a week and pay just the $9.99 a month.

Sure but they're not always the books people want to read

I also got the Kindle Unlimited. I stumbled on the Jack Daniels series and like them so much that I've been reading about 2 books a week. I also found some other books that I was curious about so I added them to my list. When it gets to the point that I can't find anything I'm interested in I will cancel.

Re: Ebook Subscription Services

I don't subscribe to any of the services. I was excited when Kindle Unlimited was first announced, but discovered that most of my favorite authors are not included because their publishers have chosen not to participate. If a free trial is available, I think that's the best way to discover if you are really interested in the content available.

To QVCAddiction...I've found that most free books are worth just what you pay for them. There's a lot of dreck out there now.

Re: Ebook Subscription Services

I tried kindle unlimited when it came out. It just wasn't for me. Invariably I was reading other books instead of ones on KU so it didn't save me any money. I can't force myself to read something just because it's on the free list. Heck, I "buy" the free Kindle First books every month and I've yet to get around to reading even one of them. At least those aren't costing me anything though.

Re: Ebook Subscription Services

I found a free service that has audiobooks. You have to use your library card to subscribe.
