QVC is really taking on a different direction. Some of it good and some that I think needs improvement. The 3 Easy Pay is a nice change offered frequently but I would prefer that the Q throw in some 5 & 6 Easy Pays once in a while for higher priced items. I would also like to see better clearance prices like retail. I noticed the hosts are now using a more aggressive approach in selling -- sometimes it's okay but other times way over the top. The Q must have someone new at the top making all these changes or he/she just woke up. I don't feel the Q keeping the shipping charges for a return is in the customer's best interests and the Q should consider when a person is buying say 3 or more items a set shipping fee such as 3 items equals $5.00; 4 items = $6.00 but they must be only in clothes, jewelry, shoes, beauty and handbags. This is my viewpoint. How do you feel?

QVC does have new management since the CEO left.
AS for occasional 5 or 6 EP - I see them fairly often , and I don't even watch QVC all that much anymore. IMO - what QVC desparately needs are some much more professional host -- many more like MBR and Dan Wheeler. So many of the hosts now really irritate me and I change the channel.

I remember seeing a LOT of complaining here about not enough EZPay, so I suppose they are responding to that. The probably can't win for losing.
Every time they do something that people seem to want, then people complain that they are doing it.
As for the shipping charge thing - I would be willing to bet that a lot of money was going out the window for people who were abusing that policy. Makes much better business sense the way it is. They have to make money. That's the plan.
As for the 'better clearance prices' issue - Makes sense. I feel like there is probably a pretty hefty profit margin on all the Chinese-made products and maybe now that they aren't taking a bath on the shipping charges they can recover from that and have lower clearance prices.
I know that sometimes people here compare them to hsn, in terms of clearance prices. But the reality there is that their initial pricing is usually too high for the poor quality products. By the time they reduce the price, it's what it should have been to begin with. But people get fooled by that and they sell the stuff like crazy. Kind of makes me SMH but, hey, they sell their stuff and people are happy - those who choose to buy the stuff.

For me, I'd prefer an offer of 20% off an item occasionally but I'm just not finding much to buy anyway.

Easy Pay must me a sucessful way to increase sales. The hosts stress "Get this home for only $8!" and that is what sticks in peoples minds, not the full price. Last week, for the all easy pay night, Shawn even went so far as to call it a "sale" which it was not. Personally, I do not like racking up charges on my credit card that will last for months, while paying full price for merchandise. I wonder about all the people who carry balances on their credit cards, lulled into thinking they can afford stuff because of easy pay. The end up paying full price plus interest charges. Bad deal.
I would prefer actual sales, or an occasional 20% off coupon.
I think the new shipping charges are okay, but can add up if you purchase a lot of items at once. For cosmetics, there are so many websites with free shipping that purchasing on QVC makes no sense unless it's a TSV.

My thought EXACTLY on all fronts.

I suspect HSN, Evine and all the online resources available at our fingertips might be giving a bit of competition.

I so much agree!!. These "younger" host are so loud and feel they must talk over each other. Just sounds like chatter than's hard to understand. Its like the Today Show! Oh my! So irritating with the 4 anchors supposedly having conversation but they talk on top of each other and nothing is comprehendable.
I started with QVC back in the day when the host gave solo presentations except on special showings. Like when Dennis Basso brought in his line, he'd be on for a full hour with the host. If he/she were just having a mixed bag of items, he/she carried it alone. So much more informational and easy to listen to.
Seems to me it adds to the products expense to require the product representative to fly in to PA just for one showing the entire day. Rain, shine, snow, sleet, or floods, the meandered in. Just doesn't make sense to me. If its so necessary to have their input, can't they Skype or some such?

Anyway, what I intended to say is the Q was much more nice to watch yrs ago. Now, it just annoying. I check in online and view the past product line up.

It is erroneous to assume that all those who take advantage of Easy Pay for various reasons and to various extents don't understand the concept of purchasing on credit and paying for the privilege. Ditto the assumption that anyone who doesn't pay cash for everything they purchase or doesn't pay every bill they have in full every month is over-spending, in debt, or not managing their finances as "well" as those who do.
Some people abuse credit, others don't. Some don't understand that there is a price for convenience; others do and are fine with it. To each their own.
