Re: Easy Pay Credit Reporting

Google has some info on this and indicates it will probably go forward sometime in the year.  2022 - 2023 ?? unclear

Re: Easy Pay Credit Reporting

Looks like right now it's only Affirm and Afterpay plan on reporting to Equifax according to CNBC.  But before long I'm sure others will follow.

I haven't used either of those but I have used PayPal's Pay in 4 a couple of times.

Will be skipping this now, too!

Re: Easy Pay Credit Reporting

To avoid this, use PayPal.. They allow ez pay if you use their credit.  They do not seem to report to any credit bureau.   I have been using them for years.

i pay with PP on my credit card, debit card, checking account and also their credit system.  I do not have a PP credit card, but they do offer one.  You do not need their CC to use their EZ pay service.

They will also pay for returns up to 12 each calendar year.

i like using PP for online purchases because merchants do not have my CC Info.

Re: Easy Pay Credit Reporting

I need more information on this. I only use my Visa Debit card for any easy pays that I take on. So I am not sure how this would apply to QVC or HSN purchases.

Well, that will wipe my Credit score down to 0!!

I use 5 or 6 ez pay on everything!

Re: Easy Pay Credit Reporting

@RespectLife   And that's my point about the "little guy" being penalized for being budget conscious and using this kind of pay to stay within one's means and pay off the installments on time as agreed to, or paying off in full early once the item has been received and proved satisfactory.

I used to use installment payments much more frequently, but in the last year or two I haven't as much as I did years ago.

@aroc3435

I still do since I shop too much!  LOL  I'm working on that!

At this point in my life, I'm not super concerned for myself.  I won't be taking any major loans, etc.

However, as you mentioned, this could hurt the 'little guy'!!!

@icezeus  I thought about the same thing. I also use my Visa Debit Card only. It would be good to know if this would only apply to Credit Cards.

Re: Easy Pay Credit Reporting

I wonder if PayPal Credit, Affirm and others like that will be reported. Some CC companies like Chase and PayPal Mastercard offers their 'easy pay' plans as well. Could get complicated.
