We live about 6 miles from the epicenter. No damage or injuries. 2 in one night. Felt it strongly.

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.1 struck near La Habra on Friday night, following an earlier 3.6 quake in the same area.

The bigger quake was originally reported as magnitude 5.4 and struck at 9:09 p.m. PT. The first temblor hit about an hour before that. Eyewitness News viewers from across the Southland, including in Northridge, Altadena, Palmdale, Torrance and Riverside, reported feeling the temblor.

I hope that it doesn't cause a mudslide or worse later!

There are broken water mains and lots of broken glass in the stores but we are praying no mudslides too.

Those were much worse than this one, that's for sure. We were here for those too. Yep, it's the strongest one we've had in a long time. Looks like Fullerton got the worst of it.

I've been through many, many of them and can say they are not fun. I'm glad I don't there any longer. My DGD lives in Santa Monica and they frighten her.

Scary that there were two smaller quakes that led up to the larger one a short while later. That hasn't happened for most of them.
