My heart is still pounding. There was a big loud noise and jolts. It felt like more than 4.1 but I live near the epicenter in Oakland Ca area.

Very frightening when it happens. Anyone who has not experienced an earthquake can't fully appreciate how unsetttling it is. Hope you can relax a bit and settle your nerves. Thinking of you and all the others in your area.

Have never been through an earthquake; can’t imagine a more terrifying and helpless feeling!

Good grief, what else can happen?

You must not have lived in California long. The quake was downgraded to a 3.9, epicenter near Castro Vallley.  I've lived here for 55 years and nothing less than 5 gets me excited. Smiley Happy

@Sushismom     Yeah.....I lived right on the Coast for 25 years.....and it seemed like there was always "some" movement.   I actually MISS that.....and the fog horns.

@dimin

I'm sorry that  earthquake frightened you. They can be scary if you are not used to them.

But I've been through a 7.0. Now that will make you change your shorts, and need a good stuff drink to settle your nerves.

@dimin Hope you are feeling better.   We are across the Bay on the Peninsula and didn't feel it over here.  My son is an EMT in San Leandro and working overnight tonight, so I'll ask him about it in the morning.  Take care!

@dimin I also live in the area of the earthquake - just a few miles from the epicenter.  I understand how you feel.  Was standing in a doorway and saw things fly off my china hutch and other things fall.  It was scary - the big jolt, the creaking of the house and the noise.  Have lived in CA all my life and was here in '89 and felt strong ones growing up in Southern CA.  My DD, who lives not far from me immediately texted me and called me and as soon as I heard her voice, I started crying.  Why this earthquake bothered me more than others I don't know.  We all process these differently and memories come back.  Take care of yourself.
