I don't believe I have anything in my home that "produces" electricity. Perhaps I should invest in a generator. I do conserve using anything that "uses" electricity on a daily basis. All my appliances are high efficiency models. I don't think it would be wise to turn off my refrigerator for an hour. Wouldn't want to risk losing hundreds of dollars worth of frozen/refrigerated food.

I could walk though my house with Luminara flameless candles to guide my way starting at 8:30 though.{#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Hi, RD! My cat generates sparks when the humidity is low... does that count?{#emotions_dlg.scared}

LOL. So does my hair doo. Maybe we're onto something here. {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

While a good way to once again raise awareness about our fragile earth, I hope those that do participate aren't just hopping on board for one hour and will continue to conserve in other ways all year round. I've seen so many eco-wannabes in over 40 years.

Thank goodness it isn't tomorrow, though. I'd hate to have it interfere with The Walking Dead. Season finale!{#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Each year Las Vegas goes dark and not just on the Strip but downtown and on Boulder Hwy. Honestly, when they all fire it back up simultaneously, I don't know how that's a good thing.

I wish I could harness that electricity, RD. Wow, cats and our hair in low humidity could be the next major natural power source!{#emotions_dlg.w00t}{#emotions_dlg.laugh}

{#emotions_dlg.laugh}You always approach a situation with a great sense of humor, Cakers. I appreciate that.

I agree, I hope everyone can find ways to make a difference each day. It doesn't take much effort, really.

Hi, found. I hope you're feeling better and stronger. I've been thinking about you, hoping all is well. I know it's been a difficult time for several reasons you've told us about.

That power surge in Vegas must be a doozy!{#emotions_dlg.scared} I can't even imagine.

I probably won't be participating tonight as we will be home and will probably want our lights on. A few years ago we installed solar panels and that has helped us a lot and cut down our energy usage by a little less than 3/4. My first summer in my house I knew my electric bill would be higher. We have 3 floors and an a/c unit for each floor. When I saw that first bill we had the solar guys out within that week. We don't leave lights on when we leave the room and have installed all the LED bulbs. I think we need a new brand though because I seem to be replacing these as often as the old ones. I did get them at a great deal, perhaps that is the problem.

Doob....thank you so much. I feel so much better and am back to eating salads and am driving again. When I got sick I just could't keep my eyes open and it really scared me so much, my dh had to cart me around everywhere. I just flat out refused to drive for about 3 weeks.

I had heard that combining Japanese Sencha Green Tea with Chinese Jasmine Green Tea promotes lung health. So while I have never been a tea drinker I did buy these and been drinking it a few times a day. Also, will look into getting the pneumonia shot as I never want this ever again. It's been 20 years since I had pneumonia the first time and this seemed to just come out of nowhere for my 2nd time.
