I always marvel at responses from some on this board. There's no need to discuss anything with my husband as I love him dearly and am very happy. There is nothing or no one I would choose ahead of him - no one!
If you truly love your husband dearly, and you are very happy as you claim, then why let a silly ol' dream get you so worked up?
I guess because we can't talk about much here so this is better than nothing.

@Spinach30, If this is constantly on your mind then it is a problem. If you had him in your dreams and then let it go, don't worry about it. If you are happy and in love you are lucky. Some people have no one to love not even a pet. Count your blessings. ![]()

@Spinach30Then why even bring this up HERE of all places? If it is bothering you so much you need to ask strangers opinions.....then there must be more to It than just nothing. Like some dark dirty secret or something.
Our dreams and nightmares are not something we can control. They can affect the quality of life for some people if they are bad or unpleasant dreams. There doesn't have to be some dark dirty secret if they are dreams that reaccur often about people we moved on from years ago.
i used to dream about owning a horse farm....I had this dream a couple times a week for years. I have no ties to horses or farms and don't want to. I have no idea where this dream came from. It was like a soap opera as it continued where I left off every night.
Some dreams are from our loved ones who have passed. They let us know that they are okay or just thinking about or there to protect us.
There is nothing wrong with discussing dreams with strangers on this board. Sometimes it helps to just talk about it from people who don't know you or will judge you,
Why do you suggest that she discuss this dream with her current husband? It could be hurtful to him and because it is not in the OP's control, she is doing nothing wrong,
Maybe discussing her dreams on here will help her in some way and maybe they will just go away on their own. This forum is here to help people, not make them feel embarrassed or guilty because they have a problem.

“Ex lovers in a dream can often become a symbol of hope for love that may be currently missing in your waking life.”

Dreams are frequently your subconcious's way of clearing things out.

@truffle The person is still in your memory regardless if you want to remember him or not. Therefore, looking at your other post, it seems this person represents something repressed by you that makes you uncomfortable-be it him or something else.
You told him to leave you alone; perhaps you had already resolved something ELSE and by telling him to go away minimized whatever issue he represented to you.
That will be 5 cents, please.
The man in my dreams passed away but when he was alive was always trying to get into my bed. I wanted a platonic relationship and that angered him. I wasn't attracted to him and didn't want a physical relationship yet he ruined the friendship so if my dream is a way to resolve old conflicts so be it. My duking it out with him in my dream worked. @Cakers3

@SeaMaiden Are you freaking serious??? LOL
How would that go down?
"Hey hon-I'm so very happy being married to you etc. etc. etc. but ( and this is a real knee slapper) I keep dreaming about my first husband who was the first love of my life. Should I see a psychiatrist or a divorce lawyer?"

@truffle You did not indicate that he was deceased. That puts a different spin on your story.
