I find I have dreams about my ex when something has reminded me of him during my day. It usually runs together with other fleeting thoughts I have and makes for a dumb dream. One time years ago I had a clear as day dream that my ex died and I was at his funeral. It really creeped me out for awhile.

I always marvel at responses from some on this board. There's no need to discuss anything with my husband as I love him dearly and am very happy. There is nothing or no one I would choose ahead of him - no one!
@Spinach30Then why even bring this up HERE of all places? If it is bothering you so much you need to ask strangers opinions.....then there must be more to It than just nothing. Like some dark dirty secret or something.
Oh give me a break! Take your dirty mind somewhere else.

@Katcat1 wrote:@Spinach30, If this is constantly on your mind then it is a problem. If you had him in your dreams and then let it go, don't worry about it. If you are happy and in love you are lucky. Some people have no one to love not even a pet. Count your blessings.
Believe me, I consider myself completely and utterly blessed! God has been to me!

@Spinach30 ... Don't worry about it. My exes pop up in my dreams all the time. So do friends I haven't seen in years and years. I think, as we get older, that our minds exercise themselves with "stuff". Some are funny, some are scary, and some ... lawdy, wish I could write a movie about. LOL
I think it's a natural thing. If it's not, oh well, did it anyway.

I am now married again and am very content and happy - more than I've ever been. My one issue is that my first husband shows up in my dreams and it's always in a way that we will be getting back together. The last time I ran into him was about 9 years ago and we talked a bit and went our separate ways. Now, I'll be honest and say I was head-over-heals in love with my first husband - he was my first true love - but again that was a lifetime ago! But why do you think he still intrudes in my dreams? It gives me an uneasy feeling the whole day!
I haven't read the whole thread but often it is the result of unconsciously what you may perceive as unfinished business. That isn't to say that you must finish the business.... just that whatever happened ocurred in such a way as to leave you unsatisfied with the ending and your sub-conscious is still dealing with it. Nothing more than that....

@Lucky Charm LOL Hopefully not a speedo outfit. That in of itself can be left open to a few interpretations. ROTFL!

You are right - do not discuss with your husband. If my husband told me he dreams of his ex, I would feel bad. I think having an ex appear in your dreams is natural. Many of our dreams involve people and events from the past and as we age those types of dreams become more frequent - just like we are remembering our past. Dreams are symbolic images not factual and can mean anything or nothing. I would just accept it as natural and normal and not worry about it, certainly doesn't mean your ex is important to you now, just an image as part of your past and may not actually represent your ex in the dream, just a symbol of past life. Many people from my past show up in my dreams including my ex and it was so long ago, it seems like another lifetime - certainly don't want him to be in my present.

Our dreams and nightmares are not something we can control. They can affect the quality of life for some people if they are bad or unpleasant dreams. There doesn't have to be some dark dirty secret if they are dreams that reaccur often about people we moved on from years ago.
i used to dream about owning a horse farm....I had this dream a couple times a week for years. I have no ties to horses or farms and don't want to. I have no idea where this dream came from. It was like a soap opera as it continued where I left off every night.
Some dreams are from our loved ones who have passed. They let us know that they are okay or just thinking about or there to protect us.
There is nothing wrong with discussing dreams with strangers on this board. Sometimes it helps to just talk about it from people who don't know you or will judge you,
Why do you suggest that she discuss this dream with her current husband? It could be hurtful to him and because it is not in the OP's control, she is doing nothing wrong,
Maybe discussing her dreams on here will help her in some way and maybe they will just go away on their own. This forum is here to help people, not make them feel embarrassed or guilty because they have a problem.
Gee, I'd love to visit you on your horse farm! Maybe we could go horse back riding! Oh yeah, you don't really have a horse farm. Sorry.

Good post. Unfortunately, it's impossible to post anything on this board and not be judged by some hater who excels in snarkiness. Sad but true.
