I'm seeking some advice. I have been selling on eBay on and off since 1997. I have never encountered somebody like this. I have perfect feedback and I have a feeling she is about to ruin it.
I sold a bottle of perfume back on November 7th. The buyer paid right away and I sent the item right away. The post office attempted delivery on November 13th, but she wasn't home so a notice was left.
On November 18th I got a, rather nasty, email from the buyer asking where her item was. I emailed her the tracking information and advised her what was shown on the tracking. Told her that it was being held at her local post office for pickup and she was not home when they went to deliver it. I didn't hear from her again but kept tracking it and saw that for days it was still at her local post office.
Well on Dec 12th I got an email from her saying she hasn't received her item. I wrote her back that as a seller I have done everything in my power to get the item to her and its up to her to contact the post office to have the item redelivered if she cannot pick it up. I right away got a scolding email back from her saying that her post office does not have it and she doesn't like how I am talking to her. She told me this was a business deal not a mother talking to a daughter.
I then took time out of my day to call the post office, be on hold for 20 minutes, and find out the location of the box. I called that post office in MN (I am in CA) directly and asked them if they still had the box, which they did. The manager explained to me that they only hold items 1 month and that it was set up to be sent back to me on 12/13. I then emailed this information back to the buyer, who I never heard from again.
On 12/18 I checked the status of the box and saw it was being returned to me. I emailed the buyer and pretty much said that I could see that she never picked up the box and it was being returned to me. I told her I am willing to reship the item if she wants to pay for S/H fees again. She said she won't pay for it again.
Well I just returned from my Christmas break and got my mail, and there is the box. A note on the box was written by the post office that said Called - Will pick up 12/17. So she had called, but still never picked up the item.
Well today I got an email from her that states, "well are you refunding my money?".
I can't decide what to do. I am so beyond annoyed with her. I feel that she never really wanted the item to begin with, that is why she never picked it up and forced it to be returned to me. I have read in eBay communities buyers doing this. Regret the sale after purchase.
I told her I am willing to refund her the price of the item but will not refund her the S/H fees she paid. Also explained to her how I am out money in eBay fees along with MY time wasted. She hasn't returned my email yet. I am sure to be scolded again. I want to leave negative feedback but I know she will do it in return. Also feel like she needs to be reported.
Has anybody ever experienced this? I am just baffled.

EBay sided with me.
I had to fax them proof from the post office directly that the post office attempted delivery. I went to the post office I sent the package from and got an AWESOME employee who just rolled his eyes when I told him the story and said ""we will get her!"" He printed out a GREAT printout for me that showed everything. I faxed that to eBay on the 30th.
I just called and he said they are denying her claim. They said I did everything correctly as a seller and that she is not entitled to the S/H back because she was the one who failed at picking up the item.
I have no doubt she will leave me negative feedback once this is done. I will battle that too with eBay to get it removed. We shall see what happens.
I hate people like her. Makes it worse for those of us who are ""good"" on eBay.

If you win the case, you can have any negative feedback removed. You may have to call more than once, but it will be done as it is eBay policy.

You'll sleep much better. Good luck!

I also agree. Be sure to block her! If she does give you a neg, call eBay. I had a problem buyer, and they removed the negative feedback. Good luck to you. Your buyer sounds like a real doozy.
