I purchase from E-Bay occasionally and always had a good experience (I do my homework on the seller) On the other hand several of my buying experiences with Amazon were not good (item advertised wasnt what I received, Amazon was no help) and on another purchase my credit card was hacked and this was an item purchased from Amazon and not a third party vendor!

It's like your own little photography studio. The first EZCube I got came with a couple of really nice lights. I set it up on a card table, with the lights (floor standing) on either side.
I never have even though I thought about it because it makes for such professional pictures~! I continue to take my pictures around my dining room table (depending on the light) or some other spots that have worked out well and have some continuity in the background that I am a small seller... ![]()

@Tinkrbl44 The way I feel about lack of important pictures. If someone really doesn't understand the value of that or maybe they do but are just too lazy....then I don't want to do business with them. The onus is on the seller to be as convincing as possible that their purse, handbag or whatever is better than anyone else's. If they don't want to do that then I guess they're not really interested in selling. I am not going to email them for answers to basic information that they should have already provided.
There's no comparison between what a known retailer does and a seller on Ebay. But when purchasing a handbag I do want to see the interior and can at least go to the store if need be.

I stopped buying on Ebay after years of doing so. I never received a purchased item, although it was tracked as delivered, it did not get delivered to me. I was not even allowed to leave negative feedback so you cannot believe the feedback figures anyway.

My camera arrived today. It certainly appears to be right off the shelf perfect, with everything inside the box as if it has never been touched. Packed very well. Ordered Saturday afternoon, received Tuesday afternoon via Priority Mail. Doesn't get much better than that. Will leave the seller an "excellent" comment/review.
LOL. It's been gorgeously sunny for a week. Tomorrow, it's supposed to be cloudy with afternoon rain. Sigh.
I understand that bad things happen to good people, whether it's Amazon, EBay or QVC, but I saved myself enough $$ on this purchase to cover the SD card, case, extra battery and extra battery charger, with $ left over. Can't complain.

Years ago was my first burn and eBay didn't help me that time, even though the FBI got involved and found the lady and man who were scamming people and prosecuted them. Recently, the seller had great reviews and her products were almost all HSN merchandise. I bought a 3 liter bath gel (Perlier) and it was badly damaged in shipping. I told her about it and sent 12 photos of the packaging and the damaged bottle. Most of the product had leaked out and all that was left was unuseable, IMO. She never offered a refund and kept saying that she packaged it well, which she did not (homemade box). eBay refunded my money, but the seller wrote a reply under my negative feedback declaring that she didn't believe "almost all of the product" was unuseable because the outer packaging was not soaked.
That's really bad~! The seller is responsible for getting INSURANCE for the products they send. That way when something like this happens (and it does!) the seller can refund immediately and then square it away with the post office (not hard and can be done on-line)!!
Never pay insurance if a Seller asks you to!! Getting the item to you safely is the SELLER'S responsibility NOT the Buyer's. Getting the item to you safely is the Seller's responsibility NOT the buyers. It is in the Seller's best interest to buy insurance for the item. And now... USPS will include insurance up to $50 (up to $100 in some instances) free of charge if the seller uses PRIORITY! There's no excuse for what that seller did~!!
The seller sent my item FedEx and they automatically insured the contents for the first $100 at no charge. When I called FedEx about the damaged item, they assured me that the seller (who is their customer) had already filed a claim. I notified eBay of this as well and the seller said, "she was waiting to hear back from FedEx about the claim." Still, even though she was gettting HER money back, she offered me no refund. This woman has excellent ratings, too. I would never buy another thing from her EVER! Shame on her.

There have been a few times I was far more knowledgeable about an item than the seller.
Last fall I purchased a bottle (a discontinued color that was selling for more than the original retail price) of butter LONDON nail polish. The polish was advertised as NEW. Because I have many bottles from this line, I know a new bottle has a cellophane tab on 1 side holding the bottle and cap together. When I received the polish there was no cellophane tab The polish had settled and it was obvious it had been used or spilled. The polish was also thick. I emailed the seller.
The seller said the polish was NEW, she'd just purchased it a Marshall's. I explained Marshall's was a secondary seller, not an authorized seller of this brand and because it was new to her, did not mean the polish was new. She said I should have seen in the picture there was no cellophane tab. I explained the tab was only on 1 side, the opposite side she'd pictured. I never accused her of false advertisement, rather tried to say as nicely as possible, she wasn't familiar enough with the product she was selling.
She became irate accusing me of trying to get something for free. She called me some not so nice names.
I filed a complaint with ebay. They refunded my money immediately.
About a month later she emailed me asking when I was going to return her polish. I said when she sent me a pre-paid mailer.
The polish is still sitting in its original envelope.
