I have a Dyson absolute v8 that is several years old. Worked great for a long time, but now needs to be replaced.  Not sure if I should get another Dyson.  $$$.  I love it because no cord, runs for 40 mins and did a great job for a long time.  Anyone have another brand of a cordless vac that they love?  Running time?  Thanks.

I have a Shark cordless.  Don't know the running time because I can use it several times before the battery quits.  However, my model came with 2 batteries so I am never down.  It was about $400 several years ago.

I also had a Dyson absolute and it never worked long enough to finish cleaning a room,. Worst purchase ever. I just bought a shark with cord and it is fantastic...the cord is super long and I can do most of my downstairs with it.

I had a corded Dyson and it finally bit the dust and I bought a corded Shark ( $179) that is much lighter and does a superior job to my Dyson.

Had both.  They are both pretty good and long lasting.  Dyson cost much, much more.  But they are innovative and pour money in to research to make better products.  Shark just uses the technology Dyson creates and sells it for a much cheaper price.

I have two Orecks - one upright and one cordless. They are both great and powerful.

I have nothing but bad stories about my Animal Dyson.  Will never ever sink my money into another Dysoin.

I purchased a Shark and have been delighted with its performance and longevity.  Bought one for our son.  Great machine.

We've had several Dysons, not impressed, didn't last long and pricey. Except for my purple dyson canister, not sure what model it is, but I do like that..their uprights, not so much.... I do love my Shark upright.
