There's one close to where I live. When it first opened, there were huge lines. Now, their parking lot is empty. I wonder how they stay in business.
My granddaughter used to work there, so I stopped in there to get a few donuts and see her. I don't eat donuts, but my DH does. He said they were horrible. They were way too heavy. They only sell cake donuts and he only likes yeast donuts.

I am convinced that these now frquent cookie/donut/cronut fads with long lines and app ordering are corporate tests of our credibility and intelligence. And we never let them down.

We had one right near the university. It did not stay open long. The donut were ok but not worth standing in line for. You know that couldn't be all that great if they couldn't stay open in a college town.

My standing in line for most things ended after my tour in the United States Army. Told my wife this about restaurants, she likes to try new places. I only eat out at places that take your order and serve it to you, no "all you can eat" joints.
My only exception was standing in line for tickets to 2 different Elvis Concerts. Took off work and stood in the line, and in the rain to boot. One was on June 19, 1977, the second to last concert he performed before he died. ❤ His last was June 26, 1977 in Indianapolis.

Duck is very popular in the DMV. It's the favorite among teachers and kids at my school. I don't care for cake donuts, so it's an easy pass for me.

@CrazyKittyLvr2 I would stand in line for something I wanted or knew there was something worth my time at the end of the line. All it takes is a little bit of patience. I would not miss out on something I wanted just because there was a line. Patience is a virtue!
A duck donut, no I would not stand in line for that. I would go to our local not a chain donut shop that has really good donuts if I wanted a donut.

@KathyM23 That virtue left me years ago. In my youth I had some patience, now, at 72, I have none.
I don't think I ever had a fear of missing out on something, even something I liked or thought I wanted. If it happened great, if not, oh well.

I have always had a lot of patience, Type Z. Standing in a line for me has nothing to do with patience, everything to do with what/why I am standing(even sitting).
My wife and restaurants? No food that I eat is important enough to wait. There are way too many good places to eat to be put on a "waiting list". Skipped even a family get together over this several times. C'mon, 3 o'clock on a Sunday at a popular restaurant? Ain't happening!
