Drone view of Tower of London poppy field

I don't know if anyone posted this before but it's spectacular. If you watch it make sure you do it in full screen.

Re: Drone view of Tower of London poppy field

How fantastic!!! Truly beautiful, thank you for sharing that. What a lovely tribute and perfect for Veteran's Day. Poppies are one of my favorite flowers, I used to have a garden full of them. They are very hardy flowers and each season they came back more than the season before. It's interesting that they selected that flower to use in the memorial. My grandfather on my mom's side in England fought during WWI. He died before I was born but he passed down some incredible stories that my mom told me about him during that time. He was lucky to survive that war and went on to marry the love of his life, have a son and four beautiful daughters and ended up running a pub. I didn't know about that memorial, but it certainly makes me smile. {#emotions_dlg.wub}

Amazing. Is there anything better than people gathered together to make something beautiful? And for the memory, so many gave everything.

Re: Drone view of Tower of London poppy field

Wonderful tribute. I read there are 888,246 poppies planted there. Each poppy represents a solder who died in WWI. Awesome ...

The final poppy was "planted" by this young man, cadet Harry Hayes, 13, from Reading Blue Coat School.
