Drinking Fountains for Cats

The vet told me that Violet does not seem to drink enough and she suggested I should get one of those fountains. Does anyone here have one of these? If so,

1. how long is the cord on these things?

2. How well do they work?

3. How big are they?

I have a space problem and am figuring out where to put one.

Any help with this will be appreciated. Thanks CLEM and Violet
