@PamfromCT That sounds like exactly how it will eventually be for me. I like to talk about moving somewhere warm every winter (lol) but like you - I'll never leave my family.

I'm hoping one day we can live somewhere where it's warm every day.
But for now - it's freezing out. We're expecting freezing rain later today.
*sigh*

@PamfromCT Like you, I'm staying in cold Nebraska. My family has been here for generations. We love this area of the country. My husband and I left for 10 years following college; we returned forever.
I do have a condo in Silverthorne, CO which is strictly for vacations and long weekends. We've had it for many, many years and used to ski a lot when our son lived at home.
Might consider a winter home during January, February and March in TX or AZ . . . but I'd miss my son, DIL and 12-year old grandson . . . and their two felines!

@BirkiLady, I think of you so often and try to follow you. It sounds like you are dealing so well (heroically) and well on your journey to healing.
That said, OMG I forgot about adding all the fur people in the family! My DD and DSIL married later in life, no kids, but three kitties, their blended family. They are a hoot. DS and DIL have a kitty and a dog, two sweethearts. GC have always had pets, and they so love animals. We just have one, our adopted Maine Coon, Lily. She’s the CEO of the house, a tiny bit spoiled lovebug.

@Sweet_Serenity I have some of their sweaters, including one similar to the one you referenced. They are cozy and beautiful. Just be sure to follow directions and dry clean only.
Significant other thought he was being helpful and washed one that had to be replaced! He did the same with a lovely pair of my silk trousers. Needless to say he doesn't do my clothes any longer . . . but I still love him. He meant well.

@nova, I am in Nova Scotia. As I was driving to the pool this morning for my daily swim, I was wishing the days were longer. 6 am and pitch black. This is good weather for indoor work like closets, garages and basements and we are going hard at it. If it was nice all the time, I would never get anything done because I a, always in the garden in good weather.
My neighbor just got back from a sun holiday and arrived in the middle of a storm...not my idea of fun.
Hang in there! LM

Hope it takes it's time warming up. Summers in Tx. are brutal ! Temps in 100's, husband turning up thermostat on a/c because of high bills.
Hope winter lingers into july LOL
