I wonder why the "scammer" even came to the show. Surely, she knew she was going to be jumped on.

That couple moved from a 3 bedroom townhouse to a 4 bedroom house, bought a bigger car, 4 strollers, car seats, closets full of clothing that looked like a store, etc. I thought the husband was a really nice guy but the wife went overboard to the point of practically ignoring him in order to get ready for the "twins". It was all kind of surreal. She didn't believe her friend who wrote the letter to Dr. Phil. To me, it looked so obvious that it was a scam - but I guess she was so desperate, she was blind to anything she didn't want to see. JMO

Kind of sad all the way around. {#emotions_dlg.sad}

I so agree with you. Craigs list is the last place to go for an adoption. When they showed the list of what they (she) spent, I noticed the Mercedes and the Durango were the cars they just purchased. Like they couldn't have purchased lesser expensive vehicles? Not quite sure why this woman had to spend $30-40K on all of this stuff. The closet(s) were packed with more clothes than they would need as babies. I felt bad for both of them; however, more so for her husband as it seemed she ignored him for months. I'm glad her friend wrote the show for help for her friend. Like I said, I feel bad for them, but Craigs list to adopt a baby, really?

As for the scammer, I couldn't have sat there as calm as they did as she showed no remorse at all; one sick woman. I even wonder if she had a sister she claimed to live with. And then she claimed to "not be a monster".

The adopter must have wanted a child really badly...as to go to Craig's list...I can't imagine when there are legitimate agency's out there. The woman who supposedly had the twins is just evil.

Dr. Phil Show and an adoption agency will be providing the money so the couple will be able to legally adopt, free of charge.

It's hard to tell which one is "crazier", the wife or the scammer. It makes me wonder, what adoption agency would be willing to adopt a baby out to a woman who is so unbalanced? They do do home studies, you know.

I wouldn't buy a mattress from Craig's List, no less adopt a child.

Sounds like these people were beyond naĂŻve. I question if they should even have a child!

Yes, some of my friends were saying that the wife, and the husband, weren't 'thinking' at all. Were they turned down by legitimate agencies? Why go to Craigslist? Dr. Phil said the price of approx. 8K plus another 5K is what it costs for a domestic adoption through this legal agency, and that the Show and this agency will be paying for it all. No cost at all to this couple. Now, why wouldn't they go through a less expensive legal agency first? THAT is the question...... Also, the couple needs to be on a budget. Buying hundreds of outfits ahead of time, etc. is ridiculous, (unless they have a lot of extra money, of course).

Re: Dr. Phil today, April 25.

The wife needs a bit of Dr. Phil's counseling. Also the husband, for going along with this situation. Did they actually think that the woman scammer would actually hand over two babies? And that they would just take them home and lead a normal life, bypassing legal laws, and documents, etc.? Bypassing the usual requirements that legal agencies require? I don't understand this type of thinking. Did the family members just go along with it?

Re: Dr. Phil today, April 25.

In the beginning of the show, her ad on Craig's list said something about having 2 teenagers living in the house but she couldn't have a baby. The teenagers were never mentioned again.

Also, did y'all see the closets full of infant clothes???? The babies would be outgrowing them before they could even wear most of them - so what was she thinking??? These people look like they have more dollars than sense.

If they didn't believe their best friend who wrote the letter to Dr. Phil, then they really need help from Dr. Phil before they are ready to bring a baby into their home IMO.......

When Dr. Phil asked her "why Craig's List?" her answer was "we wanted to try different avenues" but there were no other avenues and that was never mentioned again either. Sometimes Dr. Phil exasperates me - OR they edit out a lot of the show for the sake of time.....{#emotions_dlg.confused1}

Dr. Phil is a quack.

He doesn't investigate stories very thoroughly, IMO.

What if this couple had been turned down by legit agencies...and turned to Craig's List out of desperation?

Dr. Phil is giving them $$$$ for an adoption? Maybe the legit agency will turn them down cold.

Anyone who is willing to appear on this trainwreck of a show is either a scam artist or has serious issues.

Phil needs to stop encouraging their weirdos.
