At about half way through today's Dr. Phil show, we had an outbreak of bad weather and the local station stopped the Dr. Phil show and began discussing the weather.
Can anyone fill me in on what happened? The topic was the couple who were going to adopt twins in a private adoption, but as it turn out, it was a scam. What did the scammer say? Any detail would be appreciated!
Thank you!

It was a total scam, no twins.

Yeah no twins, no cancer, no two friends, nothing. IT made me sick!!!!! Then Dr. Phil had on some guy from an embryo/adoption place and he is waiving the fee if they decide on going that route with the adoption company. The scammer said she did it because she wanted a friend and made up the lies about the baby girl being autistic and the low birth weight of the baby boy and also of her having cancer. All a lie!!!! She said she didn't know how to stop it.

To me I feel she should be charged with something criminal. I feel sorry for this sick women who had no friends and would live in this fantasy world but I feel even sorrier for this couple. She put them through he11.

I wonder why the "scammer" even came to the show. Surely, she knew she was going to be jumped on.
That couple moved from a 3 bedroom townhouse to a 4 bedroom house, bought a bigger car, 4 strollers, car seats, closets full of clothing that looked like a store, etc. I thought the husband was a really nice guy but the wife went overboard to the point of practically ignoring him in order to get ready for the "twins". It was all kind of surreal. She didn't believe her friend who wrote the letter to Dr. Phil. To me, it looked so obvious that it was a scam - but I guess she was so desperate, she was blind to anything she didn't want to see. JMO
Kind of sad all the way around.

What a vile woman that scam artist was! And she thought that they were making too much out of it. After all .... she only made a mistake.
I agree with another poster.... this should be a criminal act!!

Thanks everyone! I feel sorry for the couple, especially the woman who thought she was getting 2 babies. Did they ever say exactly what happened the day she went to visit the scammer, felt her stomach and felt the "baby" move?
I think it's up to the couple to press charges. Hope they do!

Fraud, Embezzlement, yes there should be a long list of charges!
