I cried too when they put Isis in the bed between them. I guess they will say she has passed away in the next episode. I loved Isis and I am so sorry they decided to let her die just because of her name! They will have to change the beginning of the show now where she is walking with Lord Grantham.
Poor Isis.

I think it will be Tom. They really don't have much of a story line for now.
In the last episode he indicated he may leave for America to start a new life and that his cousin is there.
Of course he will take Sybbie with him and she is just so adorable I hate to see her go.

Poor Isis.
Did someone connected to the show actually say that?

I read it somewhere online. Yes her name became a problem.

And Hugh Bonneville said it was NOT in reaction to any world events.

Has anyone figured out how old the dog would have been in the Downton Abbey timeline? Is the dog maybe close to 90? Not sure here.

All things Egyptian were really popular at that time, and in the news because of King Tut's tomb. Isis was an important goddess, I always assumed the dog was named after the goddess.

ITA Noel. And in Season 1, they had a dog named Pharaoh.

Also this might be an homage to the owners of Downton Abbey in real life. The owner is an descendant of Lord George Herbert who was the 5th Earl of Carnarvon and was a financial backer to Howard Carter, the discoverer of King Tut's tomb.
