Downton Abbey DVD Set...

Has anyone purchased the 3 season DVD set of Downton Abbey and if you have what do you think of the quality? I read on Amazon that some reviewers said that although there was more content because it's the episodes that aired in the UK, the sound quality is poor. I'd like opinions before I purchase it for my mother for Christmas.
