Our power suddenly failed, so my husband called the Edison company right away. We went out to lunch.WE came home to a still dark house. Edison called us back and said a crew was on its way. These people are great. hey work in terrible weather and its dangerous work
We think a limb might have fallen on a line,as it's windy here today. Anyway my hubby hooked my computer up to a generator, so I am able to ass the time online.
I can't think of anything I dislike more, than having no electricity. How about you?

Hi cherry. We had so much trouble with outages we invested in a generac. One of the best things we ever did. Pricey, but after several basement floodings, it was worth it. I hope you get your power back soon.

Yes!
It reminds me, though, to be grateful for what I too often take for granted.

We have a generator in the event we lose power for a longer time. What drives me crazy is when we lose power for a minute or two and I have to reset all the digital clocks.

We have an all electric home so it really shuts us down when the electric goes off. No hot water - no heat/AC - no stove - nothing at all. Here at camp we would still have hot water and heat and the stove would still work because they are gas, and the fridge can be switched to gas too. But in our house no electric is a total shutdown. For a prolonged shutdown we have a generator that will run the fridge, and we could always cook on the grill.

I sure do! I think I take the power for granted. Then, when it goes out, I'm all put out.
Fortunately, here, the power VERY seldom goes out and 9 times out of 10 (probably takes some 20 years for it to happen 10 times, though) it is just momentary.

I love it when the power goes out, especially at night.
I figure, if our great-grands survived life before electricity, I can survive for a few hours or even days without it.
I didn't know that we could say the "a" word here! *lol*

Yep I do. Especially in winter. Fan won't run on the furnace, so no heat, well won't run without the pump, so no water. Usually it only lasts a few hours, unless there was a major storm and thousands upon thousand of people are affected.
Only once in 25 years did it go out for more then a day. (major summer storm) after missing work we decided to go to a motel. Got there, checked in and returned back home to retrieve something and the power was on.
