My point was that posting negativity on THIS thread is not helping..
GO OUT and RALLY for tougher laws but don't fault owners who genuinely LOVE their dogs...
I am not here to judge WHAT TYPE of pet people prefer..
I personally adopt, adopt and adopt some more... But that's just me...

People are just expressing their experiences and opinions about the show circuit.
I don't see how that is not appropriate on this thread.

Actually, I am a backer for tougher laws in our state legislature right now. But sadly lawmakers don't consider animal rights and laws a top priority.

We have a Dobie/Lab rescue and just lost our full bred Chocolate Lab in December at the age of 12-1/2. I would never presume to tell anyone what kind of dog to love and adopt.

I'm so sorry, and I agree with you.

I don't think anyone is presuming to tell anyone else what animal to love. Not at all!
Some are just taking issue with the practices associated with breeding and showing.
I don't think I've ever met a dog or cat that I couldn't love or grow to love. No matter what breed or mix they happen to be.

Kitty, I respectfully disagree. This thread is fraught with posts denigrating breeders and the act of obtaining a pure bred dog from a breeder of any kind.
I stand by my statement that it's no one else's business where people find a dog to love.
ETA that reading here that those of us who choose to own a pure bred dog are part of the problem of the cycle of shelter dogs is preposterous! My dogs are well-cared for and always, always spayed or neutered. The same goes for my cats.
