But since embassador Kennedy's talk, the local Japanese news programs have been airing the slaughter.....and protests.
That's good news, thanks, MickD!
I have a hard time believing it was going on, the protests have been loud over the years, and there's certainly enough communication between the countries.

It is similar to the whaling ships.... America sends out ships to intervene and try to stop that massacre, but these countries claim to have their "traditions". It is so inhumane, and I hope we continue to protest and try to interfere until it stops.

I just don't know how those men can murder the dolphins. Dolphins and whales are so intelligent and caring. They have hundreds if not thousands of varying communications/sounds. There was a story here (maybe in the past couple of years) of a mother whale who had carried her dead calf thousands of miles during the migration and was almost dead herself because she wasn't eating due to depression over the loss....

Supposedly the town is out of the way. About 50 men are involved in this. The man that shot "The Cove" showed how violent these people are around the cove. I couldn't believe what they went through to get these pics. Some of the video did show protesters that appeared to be Japanese. But I'm not sure where the protests were held.

Years ago, I was walking on the beach at the Outer Banks. I started talking to a life guard. He said I missed a great opportunity the day before. A pod of dolphins came in and was playing with people. He said that they're fairly rough with men.....less so with women...with little kids, he said they were so gentle and docile, it was unbelievable.
He said that the pod first came up to a bunch of nuns that had pulled up their habits and were wading. He said he had never heard such screaming. The nuns had thought the dolphins were sharks.

I hope the nuns didn't make a habit of playing with dolphins aka sharks again!

I've experienced watching pods of dolphins swimming when I was in San Diego. Then I had an opportunity to swim with dolphins on vacation in Mexico. I remember seeing them at SeaWorld as a child, but it is completely different when you encounter them up close. They are so intelligent, and so sweet.... they love interaction, and when you touch them they respond as if you had hugged them. They are not just fish, they are very smart mammals, and that makes their slaughter so heartbreaking. It is one thing to fish for sustenance, but it is completely different to harvest these beautiful animals for no reason. They are not needed for food, there is just no point to it.
