Stopped at Dollar tree a couple days ago, the Christmas selection was sparse.  Having empty shelves is not good in retail.  I can see why they would be bringing out stuff to fill them.

Probably because the economy was so bad this year, they bought a scant amount and then things picked up in the last month or so but it was too late to order.  Those ships from China take a long time to get here.Woman Wink

Not exactly.  I just took a look at their Q3 earnings and Q4 forecast.  Up, up and up.  They have done over $30 billion in sales and exceeded expectations.  I think they have taken market share away from other companies with 259 new locations that opened this year and sold through.

I saw someone on the Q yesterday say that the day after Christmas we (meaning the general public) start transitioning to Spring.  What?  I cannot stand that.  They do that every year and it is a big turnoff to me.  I know it's retail, but I like to enjoy the seasons and stop jamming the new season on me.  That is when I stop watching.  After the holiday rush it is time to stop, nest, regroup and refresh.  Stop living on a merry-go-round.    As I get older I resent the world of retail dictating my life.

Happy Holidays to all and enjoy your family, your friends and all the good in your life and hopefully we can find peace in the New Year.

Agree, empty shelves in retail is not a good thing.

Yeah, I heard one of the Hosts say something about time to start shopping for "Spring Fashion" too, and thought: "Good Grief, the official beginning of Winter was just a couple of days ago!" Smiley Sad

True, but by the time you actually receive the spring fashions you order now it will be spring! 😄
