I stopped at a Dollar Store that opened a couple of blocks away.  I haven't been in one of these for years.  I roamed up and down the aisles to see what all they had and left with a big bag os stuff and only spent $15.

Couple of things ... those shoe-shine sponges and VO5 volume shampoo.

I haven't seen VO5 volume shampoo for years.  I used to use it occasionally and liked it.   Picked up a bottle.  And, those sponges are great for a quick shoe shine (I'm spastic about shiny shoes).  I picked up a bunch of them.

I'm a sucker for "office supplies" and they had tons of stuff.  All kinds of pens, pencils, paper, folders, etc., etc., etc.  Goling back when I have more time, but I did pick up a few things.

There's another Dollar store a few blocks in the other direction ... maybe tomorrow I'll take a walk over there.  It's across the street from my bank, and I'll have to hit the ATM this week.

Dont know what dollar store you shopped at but on my grocery shopping day, Dollar General is the first place I stop.  Their Clover Valley brand of foods is very good and a lot cheaper than the grocery, paper products too.

Have a good time I like looky looing at a DG store.

I like those dollar stores too.  My favorite purchase is two Hallmark greeting cards for $1.  They have them for every occasion and they have the $4.95 price and above listed on the back corner, so no one I'll know I paid $ .50 for it.

Their small bathroom wastebaskets are great, last for years,  and I buy plastic basket organizers for my fridge and freezer.

There are so many located close to where I live.

@Carmie   Yes, I love all the Dollar Stores and cannot remember which one is which.  And the cards... you are right.. a dollar compared to over $5 elsewhere.
