Dogs communicating...(long).

Do any of you believe like I do that dogs do communicate with each other in their own language, and way?

When my Husky mix became sick, she and my lab who only tolerated each other for years became very close. My lab would not leave her side for that last 3 weeks...On the day we let our sick girl go I came home and took my lab and golden for a long walk around the lake. My Lab began marking everything on the path, just as my husky used to do (yes females can learn to mark high too)...the torch had been passed and she was now the Alpha. I always wondered why the lab was chosen and not the golden...unless it was known that the golden would follow her to the bridge not long after.

As some of you know my house has been a madhouse...I have my old lab, my Siberian Husky and my young Golden who has some issues. My old Lab does not have long left, we know that...a few times I have in my talks with her said to please not hand her Alpha position to the young Golden, it will only result in chaos LOL. When it is her time to go, please give that position to my Siberian Husky...of course we all know I am pack leader.

A couple of weeks ago my Sibe started mounting the Golden - they are both altered and have never done this before. There has always been a battle between them for who is top dog...The Golden has finally submitted - its about time someone put her in her place LOL! There is a new calm in my household, the Golden finally knows her place, my Siberian Husky is more content, and my old Lab is calm and relaxed. I told her this morning she need not pass the torch so soon, but she just looked at me with those beautiful eyes as if to say...its ok mom, I like the peace and quiet. I am liking it too!
