Our neighborhood pool closed last night ans held it's annual doggie swim. We took our dog and it was so much fun!

Dogs of all sizes, from a long hair chihuahua to an Elkhound ( elegant and just plain gorgeous!) swam, retrieved and jumped from the side and diving board.

Our dog , a chocolate Lab, had a blast and made besties with a rather sassy French Bulldog.

The highlight of the evening was the long jump. The winners were a Yorkie, a Beagle and a Chessie. Our dog got distracted by a little girl eating an ice cream sandwich and swam over to her and not the toy..

I wish they did but I'm sure the fur would clog the filters and some people wouldn't like to swim after the dogs. But man were those some happy dogs @tends2dogs.

NIce that they do this. I bet it was beyond fun.

I have always wondered if it was safe for dogs to be exposed to the chlorine in pools, though.

We have a pond, and while the dogs we have had have never been interested in swimming, my brother's dog loved to when she would come here.
