Dog left on a mountain ledge.

I saw a story tonight that broke my heart a owner abandon his dog on a mountain ledge.I don't remember how long it was there before someone seen it.It took the rescuers along time to bring it to safety,and then the owner shows up and wanting back.They said no way,but the way it sounds they might have a fight on their hand.Did anyone else hear this story?
