The American Humane Association has its list up of the pups nominated for this year's awards.

Included in/on the list (with pics and info.) is my DH's cousin's K9 Shadow. Shadow is a now-retired police and arson officer, who was shot in the face during a police raid. My DH's cousin, Shadow's handler, was killed. This happened last July.

Many of you here may remember this as I made a painfully emotional post or two at that time.

Anyway, everybody can go to the site herodogawards.org/vote/ and read about all these simply incredible dogs and can vote once/day.

Of course DH and I voted for Shadow, our family's doggy, but I'll tell you: I consider each and every one of these canines a living, true MIRACLE!!!

Reading their stories brings me to tears.
