I have room darkening shades and curtains up to one bedroom, the kitchen and dining room, then sheers and curtains to the remainder of the windows.

We have cellular shades in master bedroom and bathroom.
We still have mini blinds in guest bedroom and one bathroom. Hate cleaning them.

Thanks for the replies.
Ahh Yes roman shades would have been good. Maybe I will look into them for other rooms.
I always have our windows covered at night with drapes drawn etc etc. (I used to live in the city that's probably why). My husband wouldn't care if the windows were bare in every room! (except the bedroom of course).

But I prefer shutters. However, with all the windows we have and the size of them, shutters would have cost a small.fortune in this house. The shades were pretty expensive as it was. But I love the look of shutters. Before this, I've always had white wood blinds.
We have these, too. Love the "open from the top" feature so that we can let light in without people being able to see in.
We also have these on the double window in the peak of the roof over our bed that is operated by a remote.
We have Roman Shades in the family room and traditional wood slat Venetian Blinds at the front of the house. Have drapes in most of these windows, too.

Wood shutters except for 2 bedrooms with blackout shades. I can't have the light coming in or I'll wake up even earlier.

I have shades and some white wooden blinds. I'm thinking of just getting thick curtains and drawing them at night. My blinds let a lot of cold air in during the winter, so I'll be getting curtains to replace the valances during the colder months.
