My husband does. He has a flat amount taken out each week, or every other week I cannot remember, throughout the year. Then, in Oct or Nov, he takes it out and gives me half. Since we stopped doing gifts we just each buy what we want with each of our halves.

OMG - my grandmother banked at Alle, valley bank for years and years.I remember going there with her - the main one in Lawrenceville. What a great memory you brought up. thanks.

Our bank still has Christmas Club accounts, and most years I try to do one, but this year I never got around to it. I love it, because it is an account that I can't get my hands on until they send out the checks in October. I love having the actual cash to do the shopping and have everything (or most of it ) paid for before the holiday.

Our bank still even used the old passbook savings type books for this and it has Santa on the cover!

I remember having one when I started working right after high school. My goal was $100. Can you imagine? It was a lot then when my take-home pay was $32.50 a week!!

I haven't used a CC in years but I remember back in the 70's some banks gave out gifts for opening them with a certain $ amt.
